Job Description

This company is a well-established and growing manufacturing company located in Fremont. This company in the conformal coating and encapsulation (potting) of printed circuit board assemblies. To support this growth, the position of Process/Manufacturing Engineer is now open.

Responsibilities

  • Working with customer program managers to provide solutions to customer needs & requirements.
  • Lead & drive continuous improvement across all processes in the factory
  • Assist program managers with job costing.
  • Developing process instructions & production work instructions.
  • Designing fixtures and tooling for encapsulation (potting) and conformal coating products.
  • Creating programs and related process instructions for the set-up, operation, maintenance and
  • trouble-shooting of computer controlled dispensing & conformal coating equipment.
  • Training operators to set-up, operate and maintain computer controlled dispensing & coating equipment, vacuum pumps & chambers, ionic tester, ESD monitoring equipment, meter mix systems, oven, UV curing systems, plasma chamber, aqueous cleaning system, etc.
  • Troubleshoot all machines & equipment as needed.
  • Calibration of all internally calibrated machines & equipment per the established schedule.

Requirements

  • Experience with PCB conformal coating and encapsulation standards IPC, MIL, NASA, UL, ATEX, ESD.
  • Experience with dispensing/coating robots (Nordson, PVA, Asymtek, Techon, etc.) a definite plus
  • Working knowledge of epoxies, urethanes, silicones, acrylics, etc.
  • Experience programming, working with and troubleshooting robotic equipment is required.
  • Fixture and mold design experience.                                                
  • Read and understand drawings and specifications
  • Understand and work easily in Metric, British, and US unit systems. Also with viscosity, volume, distance, area, resistivity, torque, temperature changes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Experience in PCB industry is a definite plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented person with minimal supervision.
  • Can communicate effectively with Executive Management, peers, program managers, production operators and customers.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 and AS9100.
  • Minimum of an AA degree in a technically relevant field plus two years’ experience. Additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • BS in Mechanical Engineer or related Engineering degree preferred
