Spearhead project-specific purchasing initiatives including but not limited to: new supplier identification, pricing and lead time negotiation, RFQ’s and first-time purchases
Collaborate with team members to navigate dynamic timelines and special requirements
Analyze, understand, and present supply chain trends including historical usage, forecasts, client trends and designated inventory
Advocate for project needs with a customer-focused perspective, utilizing VSE backlog
Engage with cross-functional stake holders (including commodity buyers, planners, and project coordinators) to identify priorities, drive internal processes, and improve timelines
Manage project-specific shortage conversations and play a key role in expediting as well as in supplier relations and material escalation
Drive conversations with internal teams to identify and solve material obsolescence, quality or availability issues (including but not limited to: Engineering, Receiving, Quality)
Present project updates on critical checkpoints and recommended actions to Business Unit Managers and Materials Management Team on a regular basis
Identify improvement opportunities in internal planning and procurement processes
Requirements
2+ years experience in project management, purchasing, production planning or similar operational role with strong analytical problem-solving skills
Solid working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, and Microsoft Suite
Strong collaboration and communication skills, including excellent written and verbal language skills
Confidence in navigating dynamic timelines and multiple priorities
High School Diploma (Bachelor’s or advanced degree a plus)
Knowledge of contract manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or a combination of the two
Experience working with cross-functional teams on strategic projects
