Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
Other responsibilities of the Warehouse Associate role include:
Preparing documents such as work orders or bills of lading
Corresponding with establishment representatives to rectify problems
Packing, sealing, labeling, or affixing postage to prepare materials for transport
Using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter
Contacting carrier representatives to make transport arrangements
Requirements
Must be able to work well in a team setting and under immediate supervision. And must be highly organized and have great communication skills.
Other requirements of the Warehouse Associate role include:
High school diploma or equivalent certification
3 years or more of Shipping and Receiving experience
Must be able to work independently under no supervision
Knowledge of common Warehouse procedures
Forklift and/or pallet jack experience, a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds using proper safety methods
Must have consistent and reliable means of transportation
