Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs and controls activities related to the planning of all material

• Develops systems to evaluate vendor quotations and vendor performance, using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery and service

• Negotiates requests for material, equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors

• Understand and negotiate supplier contracts

• Support capital project management and negotiating

• Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of personnel engaged in planning, purchasing, receiving, stocking, issuing, and delivering raw material, finished goods items, blanks, supplies and tooling

• Responsible for physical inventory management

• Develop and mentor staff to offer best-in-class supply chain control to the organization

• Expedites high priority customer orders, and systematically analyzes internal delivery performance

• Works with other department managers to achieve the best overall results for the organization as a whole

• Leads continuous improvement efforts within department and assists other areas as needed
