Job Description

As a member of QA organization, Application Test Engineer will be responsible for validating and qualifying various storage industry standard applications and tools. You'll be working closely with Engineering Development, QA, Support, and Product Management to ensure product releases meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design high level test strategy to characterize performance and qualification for various applications like VDI, Databases, and other storage I/O tools 
  • Work with Product Management, Sales Engineers, and Support Engineers to define Application test requirements and test strategies for Springpath products 
  • Automate any manual application tests to be executed as part of continuous integration test framework 
  • Work with development team to analyze and root causing characterization regressions 
  • Engage with support and sales engineers in customer escalations and product demos 
  • File defects and feature enhancements, tracking them to closure 

Requirements

  • Strong on networked storage, protocol testing background 
  • Experience in test plan design and test case development for complex software projects. 
  • Experience developing automated tests in one or more of following programming languages: Python/Perl/C/C++/Java. 
  • Experience with integrating automation test frameworks such as Jenkins 
  • The ability to debug and extend automated tests 
  • Strong systems administration experience in Linux and/or Windows environment 
  • An understanding of file system concepts and protocols such as: networked file systems, logical volumes, journaled filesystems, tiered storage, NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, Shared LUNs. 

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or Xen. VMware is preferred. 
  • Experience in testing clustered/distributed systems. 
  • Ability to leverage open source tools for test development and execution. 

Qualifications: 

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field 
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of Software Test or Development experience
