Job Description

The qualified candidate will be able to perform and lead a crew to maintain and repair of equipment and facilities in support of the manufacturing operations. This includes the repair of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems as required. Will also work on facilities enhancement projects. Will be active in maintaining environmental and safety compliance in accordance with state and federal law and company policies. Will perform preventative and periodic maintenance on equipment per defined schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, maintains and ensures the effective operation and good condition of all industrial equipment, tools, utility system. 
  • In case of equipment breakdown: 
  • Diagnose the origin of the breakdown
  • Research the most time/cost efficient solution
  • Reports recommendations to the manager 
  • Requisitions tools, equipment, parts and supplies required for operations
  • Performs repair jobs in safe conditions for the product and the workers 
  • Contacts sub-contractors when necessary and advise manager of estimated costs
  • Performs preventive maintenance on all CNC equipment.
  • Organizes and maintains appropriate level of spare parts in stock 
  • Optimizes existing equipment working closely with the production department to reach higher efficiency levels 
  • Maintain files on appropriate regulations and equipment certifications.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years schooling, training, and/or experience in machine maintenance. 
  • Well-developed knowledge of processes, equipment, parts, systems, tools, and machinery used in a machine shop;
  • Experience reading and interpreting machine drawings and machine schematics;
  • Proficiency using all types of measuring tools as required (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple employees, projects, and deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Ability to effectively work database management systems, spreadsheets, word processing documents, and other applicable computer systems and software.
