Directs and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in the manufacturing department of SMT & box build assembly lines with focus on quality to attain production goals consistent with cost, quality and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
Directs daily department activities in order to meet production goals. Reviews and establishes material, equipment and manpower resource requirements.
Coordinates production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution.
Selects and develops personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
Confers with management, production and engineering staff to determine manufacturing issues, cost effectiveness and customer demands. Provide management with project(s) schedules, updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting
Responsible for the maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring both preventive maintenance programs and repairs are carried out in time.
Administer safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees.
Generates productivity reports and other operations metrics
Promote on-time delivery and maintain the quality standards and packing specs on all products
Oversee daily flow of orders, internal processes, inventory analysis, forecasting, production planning, shipping and receiving, quality control, and driver dispatching
Actively lead teams and provide individual contribution in problem solving efforts on selected projects to improve quality, reduce cost and improve cycle time (i.e., wasted time, scrap, rework, etc.)
Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process yield, cycle time and defect reduction and cost goals that will lead to a competitive advantage.
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customers, and suppliers to identify and implement opportunities for improving manufacturing capabilities and eliminating waste from the operation
Experience in SMT & Box build assembly and Management is Preferred.
Prior experience of production control & planning with knowledge of master planning & scheduling is preferred.
ERP system experience is preferred
Knowledge / experience in Lean Manufacturing.
